Congress continues to debate the federal budget, many Californians are facing uncertainty — especially families who rely on CalFresh (SNAP) to help put food on the table. If the federal government shutdown continues, funding for upcoming CalFresh benefits may be impacted as early as November 1.
✅ What You Need to Know
EBT cards continue to work for any remaining October benefits.
If November benefits are delayed, you do not need to reapply — benefits will be issued automatically once federal funding resumes.
If you are required to renew or submit your SAR 7 in November, please continue to turn in your forms on time. There may be processing delays, but your benefits will be protected.
New applicants can still apply for CalFresh:
Online at GetCalFresh.org
By phone: 1-877-847-3663
Or in person at a local county social services office
